ISLAND ABA
- Our mission is to serve and support our local communities in Hawai’i by
providing ABA treatment that is aligned with your household.
- Our Mission
- To meet families where they are in their journey to understanding a loved one’s behavior.
- To support our island community here at home!
- To prioritize understanding the custom and culture of each family to tailor our care to your needs.
- Our Values
The local island community is where Island ABA aims to connect. Any effective treatment approach, in our opinion, must be built on developing close bonds with the families we serve. We are aware of how personal it is for you to let us inside your private space, so we start by gaining a better understanding of how your family operates on a daily basis.
We are interested in learning about the cultural values that are significant in your home, the routines and timetables that work well for your busy schedules, and the areas in which you feel the most support is needed.
- By getting to know you we become a member of your family.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach to understanding behavior. We examine how behavior works, how behavior changes with the environment, and the optimal ways in which one learns.
- What is ABA?
- To learn more about our ABA therapy programs call us at 808.900.2648 or fill out our inquiry form for a more detailed response. We’re here to help you every step of the way.
- how do i get started?
- Based on your family needs, ABA therapy is typically delivered directly to the patient (1:1), in small groups, or through consultation. It focuses on teaching necessary skills to increase appropriate behaviors and decrease behaviors that might be dangerous or impede learning.
- How Does aba Work?
- Why wait?! ABA therapy is most effective when it is introduced early. This allows us to teach family caregivers the foundational skills and strategies needed to change behavior. We know that it is more challenging to break habits that have been learned over long periods of time.

- Paying Out of Pocket?
- Island ABA has served a diverse group of families in Hawai’i since 2016. Our service providers have been working with patients since the early 2000’s. Together, we’ve seen the disparity between individuals who had readily available access to ABA services versus local families that could find no one to help them. That's when we made a conscious decision to commit our practice to our local island community who have the right to access care no matter what challenges they face.
