ISLAND ABA
Our Mission
Our mission is to serve and support our local communities in Hawai’i by providing ABA treatment that is aligned with your household.
Our Values
What Makes Island ABA Unique
The local island community is where Island ABA aims to connect. Any effective treatment approach, in our opinion, must be built on developing close bonds with the families we serve. We are aware of how personal it is for you to let us inside your private space, so we start by gaining a better understanding of how your family operates on a daily basis.
We are interested in learning about the cultural values that are significant in your home, the routines and timetables that work well for your busy schedules, and the areas in which you feel the most support is needed.
By getting to know you we become a member of your family.

FAQs
A Simple Guide to ABA Therapy
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach to understanding behavior. We examine how behavior works, how behavior changes with the environment, and the optimal ways in which one learns.
How ABA Works
Based on your family needs, ABA therapy is typically delivered directly to the patient (1:1), in small groups, or through consultation. It focuses on teaching necessary skills to increase appropriate behaviors and decrease behaviors that might be dangerous or impede learning.
Why Start Now?
Why wait?! ABA therapy is most effective when it is introduced early. This allows us to teach family caregivers the foundational skills and strategies needed to change behavior. We know that it is more challenging to break habits that have been learned over long periods of time.
HOW to Get sTARTED
